Eastbay, the world's leading supplier of athletic shoes, clothing, and sports equipment, wanted to create a "killer feature" that would leverage their reputation for recommending product based on performance and not just sales-pitches.
Guidance delivered the "Field Tested" page and "Gear Finder" search tool. Field Tested is a product testing system based on reviews by elite athletes, such as Ty Lawson, point guard with the Denver Nuggets, Patrick Peterson, cornerback with the Arizona Cardinals, and, Justin Upton, outfielder with the Atlanta Braves.
Eastbay customers can access test results by sport (Football, Basketball, Baseball, Soccer) and position, and they are also able to input their own reviews. (For non-professional reviews, such as college or high school athletes, anonymity is insured; their authenticity is confirmed by Eastbay; and, if they attended, badges of participation at NFTC (Nike Football Training Camp) and FBU (Football University) are posted.)
These field-tested results are included in the product's PDP, providing for additional merchandising of the product: http://ow.ly/nXWv6.
And just in time for pre-season football, Eastbay customers are able to access video interviews with NFL football players discussing their product preferences in items such as padded compression for quarterbacks, gloves for running backs, cleats for wide receivers, etc.
Currently, there are 223 models (1,275 SKUs) that have reviews on Eastbay.com. Eight hundred and thirty-one models are currently available for review by field testers.
Eastbay produced this commercial in support of the launch: http://ow.ly/nXWzw.
Congratulations to Eastbay and our developers working on this project!
