This week’s featured employee is Tre, who recently joined our team as one of our .NET Tech Leads. Before entering the world of eCommerce, Tre had a career in professional boxing training with the great Floyd Mayweather. After that, he hung up the gloves and decided to pursuit a career in .NET development. Excellent career choice, Tre! We asked Tre to answer a few questions for us, here is what he said:
What’s your title?
.NET Architect/Tech Lead
How long have you been at Guidance?
Feels like sometime but only over a month officially.
Tell us about your hometown.
I grew up in Los Angeles/Windsor Hills. We moved to Las Vegas when I was 11 years old and we moved back to California 3 years later. We got tired of the heat. :)
What city do you currently live in?
I currently stay in Marina Del Rey, CA.
How did you decide on this career?
I’ve always had a passion for technology. As a young child (like around 10), my first computer was an Atari 800 XL. This career came naturally to me. It just worked out. By age 10, I was already coding in QBasic.
What was the oddest job you ever held?
The oddest job I’ve ever had was a rabbit breeder when I was 10 years old. I used to breed rabbits and sell them to pet shops. Made a good profit.
What do you like most about working at Guidance?
I enjoy the cool weather and the relaxed yet professional working environment.
What are you currently working on?
I’m currently working on a new eCommerce site for a major book publisher. The site is being built on Mediachase ECF. I am also designing the checkout process for another book publisher (a different one).
