This week’s featured employee is Nancy, our HR Director and Communications’ action team facilitator. Nancy’s vibrant personality, dedication, and colorful collection of shoes are beyond description. She’s also our supplier of candy, especially when we most need it (thanks Nancy!). We asked Nancy to answer a few questions for us, here’s what she said:
What’s your title?
Director, Human Resources & Organizational Development
How long have you been at Guidance?
Tell us about your hometown.
My hometown is well known – Los Angeles! Growing up here has been great, always changing…
What city do you currently live in?
I live in Marina del Rey. I love being near the beach, the water, the Marina… I also love that everything is so close; you could easily walk everywhere – the coffee shop, the store, etc.
How did you decide on this career?
I was working at UCLA while completing my degree in Psychology. Working there, I saw how difficult it was for management to communicate effectively with the staff. I somehow served as a bridge between both groups and that sparked an interest in Human Resources.
What was the oddest job you ever held?
I once worked at a blood bank. I was in charge of billing and part of the job required doing inventory of all blood pints in the blood freezer.
What do you like most about working at Guidance?
Working at Guidance is both challenging and dynamic. Never dull.
