This week’s featured employee is Gabby, one of our Project Managers. Gabby is a member of Guidance’s green committee ( Guidance Green) and has come up with some of the best ideas we've implemented to keep ourselves environmentally friendly. She is also a mother of two and President of the PTA at her daughters’ school. We asked Gabby to answer a few questions for us, here’s what she said:
What’s your title?
Director, Project Manager
How long have you been at Guidance?
Since May 2010 (almost my 1-year anniversary!)
Tell us about your hometown.
I grew up in the windy city, Chicago, IL. I loved growing up in Chicago, especially every time we were told “school is closed today, we are snowed in!” Our sleds would get a work out. Today, however, I don’t think I could manage that extreme weather. Although my daughter would love to hear those words for sure!
What city do you currently live in?
I live in Redondo Beach.
How did you decide on this career?
The love for technology and putting to good use my analytical mind.
What was the oddest job you ever held?
Luckily, I have not had any odd jobs. They’ve all been pretty straightforward.
What do you like most about working at Guidance?
The fact that every project I have worked on is unique, innovative and interesting. No monotony here! I get to learn something every day and the people I work with are great.
What are you currently working on?
I am working on developing a new site that combines commerce and social impact, very exciting concept! I am also working on a new Facebook application that we’ll be launching in the summer. More details soon!
