The Teaching Company, parent company of The Great Courses, and a developer and marketer of university-level courses for personal development and lifelong learning, wanted to upgrade its eStore to a scalable platform that would easily respond to consumer and market changes.
Guidance deployed a Magento Enterprise 1.13 site that is stable and high-performing to support:
- 10,000 pricing structures,
- digital and licensing rights, and
- integration with 30+ vendors and technologies, including MS Dynamics, Bazaarvoice, Akamai, iTunes, Audible and more.
The responsive site features 500 courses, each on average containing 12-24 lectures, with each lecture running 30 minutes to an hour in length. Courses are downloadable from the site, by various formats (CD, DVD, streaming, digital or printed transcript book) and by operating system (iOS or PC). For those customers choosing to shop through The Great Courses printed catalog, a digital version is available and linked to associated PDPs for direct purchase. And through "My Account", customers can access their digital library of purchased courses from anywhere and on any device.
