The Salvation Army
Well-known international organization, The Salvation Army (TSA), contacted Guidance to update their financial reporting system, which originally depended on Lotus Notes for messaging and other applications to work. Guidance developed an updated solution based on Microsoft SQL Server BI Platform using Reporting Services. The system extracts data from TSA’s Great Plains financial system (now Microsoft Dynamics) to access income and expenditure information and compare that information with departmental budgets set up at the beginning of the year. The users access the reports through a browser and can define report parameters. In addition, the system can be scaled to create centralized access to 600 regions using Great Plains to provide reporting across multiple internal organizations.
