Meet Ed -- This Week's Featured Employee

September 3, 2010

This week's Featured Employee is Ed, who works in our Business Development Team. Even though Ed has just recently joined us, he's known Guidance for a long time. We asked Ed to answer a few questions for us, check them out:

What’s your title?
Sr. Business Development Associate

How long have you been at Guidance?
Approximately, most of my life.
Specifically, 4 months.

Tell us about your hometown.
I was born in Leamington Spa, in the county of Warwickshire, in England. The town is most famous for being the birthplace of William Shakespeare.

What city do you currently live in?
Aliso Viejo, CA

How did you decide on this career?
My love of people recently joined with a passion for using technology to meet business challenges, that’s how I came to Guidance. Being born in the late 80’s, I have always been surrounded with technology. My father, to this day, is a techno-junkie. To celebrate my birth, he purchased a Bang & Olufsen stereo system. There are photos of me laying face down on my stomach listening to Queen at 6 months old. This is a long-winded way of saying that I learned early on that any challenge can be solved with technology.

Technology is the way companies and societies meet the demands of tomorrow.

What was the oddest job you ever held?
At age nine, during elementary school, my entire school worked a day at a zucchini farm. From the early morning until the late afternoon, 200 fourth graders ‘gleaned’ fields of zucchini. I’m not sure if this qualifies for a job because I wasn’t paid for it, but it certainly didn’t qualify for a ‘field trip’ either...

What do you like most about working at Guidance?
The culture here is incredible, which comes from the great people Guidance hires and retains.
